The Kiwanis Club of Staunton was chartered in 1922 and has proudly served the youth in the Staunton area for 100 years. We are your neighbors, and our members reflect a wide mix of ages, occupations, backgrounds, and interests. We are all passionate about making our community and the world a better place for children so they can thrive. We are devoted to serving the children in our local community through a wide range of service projects. Our club is also part of Kiwanis International, a global organization that serves children throughout the world.
Club Projects
Our club’s signature project is the Staunton Babe Ruth Baseball program. Our members have helped organize and run this project since 1947. Over 250 kids each year have enjoyed learning skills, playing games, and experiencing teamwork. We partner with the City of Staunton Parks and Recreation Department, and we couldn’t do it without the volunteers who coach and parents who help in the concession stand.
Staunton Christmas Parade
Staunton Kiwanis Club marshals the annual Christmas parade. Working with the Staunton Downtown Development Association, we oversee the organization of the floats, marching bands, horses, antique cars, firetrucks, motorcycle clubs, city council members, and last, but not least, Santa Claus. Club members direct float participants to their designated starting locations and help direct traffic. Supporting the parade brings out the child in all of us.
